Step 1: The MBE 6-Day Foundation Course

The 6-Day Foundation Course is a diagnostic course designed to provide you with a bar exam "attack plan." Through detailed testing and review, your individual strengths and weaknesses in each MBE topic are identified. Each day is devoted to one MBE topic and is broken down into two sessions: the morning session consists of a 50-question MBE-style exam, and the afternoon session reviews the exam through a detailed in-class analysis. Along with a substantive review of the law, students also receive important tips, strategies, and techniques for maximizing MBE performance. The MBE topics are also tested on the essay portion of the bar in all but a few states. Thus, by improving your MBE knowledge base, you will also improve your knowledge base for the written portion of the bar as well. The six MBE topics are:

  • Constitutional Law
  • Torts
  • Contracts
  • Property
  • Criminal Law/Procedure
  • Evidence

Step 2: General bar review course + Kaplan PMBR Home Study

We recommend that you keep up your MBE practice during your general bar review course by doing as many Kaplan PMBR workbook questions per day as possible. Applying your general bar review concepts to realistic MBE practice questions will hone your skills as you prepare for exam day.

Step 3: The Final Review Course — 3 Days

The MBE 3-Day Final Review Course offers a simulated MBE and detailed review designed to improve your test-taking skills and overall exam performance. Constructed by our expert law faculty and updated twice a year, it incorporates the most up-to-date MBE trends, and gives you the most current and representative experience available. The simulated exam is administered under exam-like conditions on the first day of class.

Days two and three consist of a substantive review that highlights the fine-line distinctions and nuances of the relevant law. Our instructors provide important step-by-step strategies and techniques along the way to help you improve your MBE performance, including what to do on game day itself. Taking the six-hour exam under simulated test conditions gives you the invaluable opportunity to experience the pressures of the MBE—you'll not only get experience on the tested content, but also practice for endurance and stamina to help do your best on the actual MBE.
